Welcome to Greater New Zion
At Greater New Zion, we are committed to sharing the Gospel, teaching God’s Word, and helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. No matter where you’re coming from, you are welcome here.
A Place to Belong
We are a church family centered on Scripture, prayer, and the love of Christ. We gather to worship, learn, and grow together in faith.
Who We Are
It’s no accident that you’re here. At Greater New Zion, we want every person to experience the love of Jesus through genuine community, meaningful worship, and clear biblical teaching. When we gather, we learn from God’s Word, encourage one another, and live out our faith together.

Our Mission
We exist to reach people with the Gospel and help them grow in Christ.
Our Vision
Reach – Share the Gospel
Teach – Build a strong foundation in God’s Word
Train – Equip believers to live out their faith
Send – Go and serve others with confidence
What We Believe
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and life.
We believe in one God, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that salvation is found through Jesus Christ alone, by grace through faith.
We believe that Jesus died for our sins, rose again, and is coming again.
We believe every believer should continue growing in obedience to God’s Word and in relationship with Jesus Christ.

Pastor Donald W. Anderson, Sr. was born August 2, 1956 to late J.T. Anderson, Sr. and Naomi Anderson. Shortly after graduating from Benton High School in 1974, Pastor Anderson joined the United States Air Force and served our country for four years until 1978. It was during that time in 1976 that he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. From that time on, he gave himself “continually to prayer, and to the ministry [and study] of the word” (Acts 6:4). Eleven years later, on January 1, 1987, Pastor Anderson publicly acknowledged and accepted the fact that Jesus had called him to preach the gospel. He preached his first sermon on March 15, 1987 and became an ordained minister May 27, 1989.
On April 16, 1989 he was selected to serve as Pastor of the Greater New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, Louisiana. Before becoming Pastor, he served as a Deacon under the pastorship of the late A.L. Coleman. He also served as a deacon and minister under Bishop Fred A, Caldwell, Sr. Pastor Anderson pours himself into helping people spiritually, socially, and physically. His life is devoted to study of the word and prayer, reaching the world and bringing light and illumination by the teaching of God’s Word to all who will hear. Pastor Anderson’s teachings, which boldly proclaim the “good news of Jesus,” are broadcast daily on local radio stations in Louisiana, Texas and parts of Arkansas. Pastor Anderson can be heard daily on the “Bread of Life Ministry Broadcast.”
He and his wife, Clodis, reside in Benton, Louisiana.
